MuniGrant partners with Parks & Recreation departments that want to start a local park foundation (also known as a friends group, auxiliary, booster club), and want to move from concept to reality in the most streamlined and effective way possible. We offer a comprehensive set up and training package that goes from initial entity set up through execution of its first fundraising campaign. 

 

The Launch Program is completed in approximately 6-8 months and integrates best practice from across fundraising, nonprofit, and parks and recreation fields. This program gives new park foundations the tools and training needed to successfully fundraise thousands of dollars for years to come.

• Nonprofit Corporation Set-up: We offer a suite of recommended founding documents, including Articles of Incorporation, bylaws, and mission statements. We also guide clients through the a quick state and federal filing process.

• Online Donation Systems Set-up: We build a basic website with integrated giving platform and donor database. 

• Gift Processing System Set up: We write a tailored donor acknowledgement letter, and provide gift processing training, as well as a step-by-step guide. 

• Leadership and Roles: We provide training on the leadership and administrative jobs necessary for a functional and effective park foundation. We provide guidance in determining who should best fill those roles.

• Fundraising Training: Our training covers over 10 of the most important topics within fundraising, including topics such as annual appeals, capital campaigns, and membership program. We also offer a fundraising 101 handbook. 

• Municipal Relationship: We provide guidance and draft documents on how to formalize your relationship with the municipal partner. 

• Campaign: We offer support from start to end of your first fundraising campaign! We provide example documents, guide staff and volunteers through processes, and celebrate with you when your first dollar rolls in!
